The 2007 Ford Edge has a brake problem that Ford refuses to acknowledge. When stopping, the brakes make a grinding noise in the front. I have taken my Edge in for repairs on the brakes 3-4 times. The service tech agreed there is a problem. A Field Service Engineer has looked at it but said it is a typical characteristic of the vehicle. I esclated the issue to Ford Corp office and they refuse to correct. I DO NOT feel safe in the vehicle.

We love driving around in our Edge with the roof open as much as possible! We hardly ever close the shade. Sometimes when the sun is hot and bright, we have to shut the vista roof and turn on the a/c, but otherwise, it's open as much as possible weather permitting. Lots of room, especially in the trunk area. I love the idea that I can put the back seats down and make lots of room to haul bigger items. The only downfall I don't like it the light interior that shows all the dirt. It's hard to keep it clean. I would love them to make it in a dark shade that's not leather. Like a dark grey. Handles very good, and has amazing pick up and go with the V6. I've gotten alot of compliments and people asking what kind of car it is. If you're thinking of buying one, do so!!!

Our Edge is used as our family hauler for our two young children. We love the styling and really love the panoramic sunroof. The ride is very comfortable, not at all truck-like, similar to a luxury sedan. Seating is comfortable and there is plenty of room for our family. Gas mileage is pretty good around town, 17-18 and very good on the highway 22-24 range. AWD versions are great in winter driving conditions. We don't really have any complaints.

I am over 6'4" and 240 lbs, and average 21K miles per year - both of which mean I need size comfort and fuel economy. I moved from a Mountaineer and Expedition (both good vehicles for me) into the Edge. Gas economy is 25% better than the two SUV's (which averaged about 15mpg vs Edge 18+mpg), and there's more room inside than the Mountaineer. Check out the weight and measurements before you decide - it looks smaller until you put them side by side! The fuel savings will be huge for me as prices increase. I am very comfortable and the considerable weight of the Edge and large wheelbase make for a great ride on the Interstate. Around town, it's more responsive and easier to park than the Expedition and easy to get in and out of.
