Throughout history very few automobiles have achieved such great success that they will forever be known as icons. Examples of this achievement include the Model T, Ford Mustang, Porsche 911 and, of course, the Volkswagen Beetle. As the first model to sell more than one million units, the original Beetle is a landmark of the American automotive landscape. Sadly, this icon left the American market in the late ‘70s, leaving many wanting of its return. Well more than 20 years later, the dome-shaped car finally returned as the New Beetle, a beautiful blend of past and present. With updated retro styling, available dash-mounted flower vase and all the safety and performance technology of today, the New Beetle is more than nostalgic, it’s an icon.

Comments about autoMedia 2006 Volkswagen New Beetle Convertibles:

I agree the beetle convertible has issues with the windows making noise when going up and down. It's annoying. But, when driving with the top down on a warm sunny day - no replacement for this spunky little pocket rocket.

I am not sure others have had this problem, but the leather seats don't seem to wear well. The piping on my seats have come undone, and the company believes it's not a defect... go figure.

Comments about autoMedia 2006 Volkswagen New Beetle Convertibles:

PROS: This is a fun car and perfect for cruising around the town or taking a trip to the beach. The semi-automatic top is easy to put down and the boot slides on in one simple motion. It handles great and has surprisingly quick acceleration when you need it. The back seat can be a tight squeeze if you have to transport adults but is perfect for kids(or dogs). The MP3 jack is an added bonus. CONS: The glove box and trunk are about the same size so don't pack too much for a weekend trip. The center console doesn't lock, either. The seats are not easy to adjust and most people can't figure out how to move the seats in order to sit in the back.

Comments about autoMedia 2006 Volkswagen New Beetle Convertibles:

The engine idles rough and was told by the dealer there was not a way to adjust. The windows make noise when up, like they need grease in the V-slot in the top.
