I am guessing you have 18 year old brake fluid in that car. If so, the cheapest fix to try before you spend big bucks is to flush your brake fluid. Get your friend or wife to pump the brake pedal while you drain each wheel point of the brakes till it runs clean. It's a simple operation. Get about 2 quarts of brake fluid and open the reservoir. Your friend needs to pump the brake pedal twice and hold it down while you open the line and let the old fluid out. Fill the reservoir and repeat for each wheel. Start the operation at the wheel farthest from the reservoir, usually, it's the passenger rear wheel.
