    '92,Chevy 1/2 ton,350cu.in V/8. Compressor came to an grinding halt,disentergrated internaly (lots of metal partical in the system.

    Q: What's the prosedure for proper purging before replacing the compressor?TIA,Al.

    Out of my league on this one. Sorry.

    Closest I came was when a racing motor blew and I was too poor to buy a new oil cooler. So I did everything I could imagine to clean it out, including allowing the parts washer to run through it all weekend. It didn't get everything and the next motor blew while I was taking it off the trailer.
