My 2001 Buick Regal has recently developed a weird condition. Most of the time, when I turn the key to the run position of the ignition switch, the lights in the dash all blink off and on continually and there is a continual clicking noise in the dash or in the engine compartment and the car won’t start. Sometimes I can wiggle the key back and forth, and it will finally start. I found by accident that when the key is in the run position with the lights in the dash blinking and the clicking occurring, I can push the emergency brake and can then start the car ??? Several times, the car has just died while going down the street. When that happens, I can turn the ignition switch to off, push the emergency brake on, start the car and go on my way. This is very scary having the car engine die all off a sudden. I haven’t been rear ended yet, but I am afraid this may happen. Sometimes the shifter won’t go out of park so I have to put a screwdriver in the slot next to the shifter to get it out of park. Sometimes when the lights in the dash are flashing, the “service engine soon” light and the “traction control” lights go on and stay on even after the car starts. The next time I start the car, these lights are not on any more. I have had the car in a shop and they tried for a whole day to find the problem and couldn’t help me. Thinking it might be a bad battery, I installed a new NAPA battery in the car and checked all the cables and wiring and didn’t find any loose connections. If any one has had this problem or can help me, please reply ASAP. THANK YOU.

Clock replacement

Frustration! drivers side window started working slow then quit. Tried a new master
switch it didn't work the drivers window either. Spent 100.00 to have
it diagnosed and was told it was the motor. Couldn't afford a new one
so drove with the window up argggg!!!!!! Recently the power window
locks started working intermittently and now the vents and passenger
window too. Was told it could be the power window relay but I don't
know where it's hidden. I'm on a fixed income and have very little
money add to that the fact that I'm a woman and you can see the
problem. Some mechanics will tell you anything and take your money
figuring you're a woman and won't know any better so it's hard to find one you can trust. Does anyone know
where the window relay is hidden? it's not in the fuse box under the
hood. Also could it be a short? Help!!! I'm getting ready to beat my
head against the wall...lol

1990 Ford F-150, 2 new batteries completely drained, truck sits most of the time, troubleshooting guide gotten online and advice from mechanic has not been helpful.

What I have done:

Using new battery, connected pos battery cable to pos battery post. Neg cable not hooked up. Using a multimeter placing one probe on neg cable end and other probe on neg battery post. If meter deflects, indicates a shot alternator or short in electric system. My meter deflected. Per the guide, if alternator cable is disconnected and meter does not deflect, then the alternator is defective. My meter deflected with alternator disconnectd. Then per guide, remove individually each fuse and check multimeter deflection to determine which circuit is shorted. Every circuit showed meter deflection.

It appears to me to be some sort of relay as the car is rquired to be in park and brake depresed to allow the car to start. On some occasions it will not and I have to move the shift lever several times, depress the brake and eventually it will start...but getting more difficult...any ideas? This weekend the battery went dead. No lights were left on or anything else. When I first got into the van there was a clicking noise. When I turned the key in the ignition, nothing. I was able to jump the van to start it and went for a 30+ minute drive on the interstate to charge the battery. While driving the lights on the buttons for AC, wipers and air recirculation all kept blinking on and off. If I let the van sit still and idle they will not stop blinking. If I drive or idle the engine at 1500 rpm or higher then after about 15 minutes the lights stop blinking and turn off. The next time I get in the van this process is started over. Any ideas what would be causing this to happen??
