hello, your engine compartment, is the switch, a lever action down by your seat, or under the dash? Either way i guess dosn`t matter, i think if you pull the actuator noting happens or it pulls real easy, may be the cable has broken or just in a bind if it is hard to pull,try some w-d 40 into the wire area of the lever put drop cloth around so it does not leak on floor board carpet, and ware glasses to protect the eyes of spray, if the handle is real easy to pull, then the [hopfully the handle is broken and not the cable] get a pair or vice grip pilers if you can see the cable pull on it and that might get your lid open.If these do not work. try having a friend lift up on the hood while you pull the leaver, it may be actuating but not enough for the hood springs to pop the lid up to open possition. good luck. cactus
