    Maintenance On 1999 Ford Ranger

I have a 1999 Ford Ranger with a 4 cyl. and had to take it into the Ford Shop today for it was not running right, they put a New Timing Belt on it, changing Plugs and Wires.

I would like to know what else needs done to it as far as maintenance, it has 85,000 miles on it.

Does it need the Air ( what ever you call it) cleaned, injectors and the whole system cleaned, please tell me what all needs to be done so I can get it back on the road it tip top sharp?

I also would like to know what is the very best Air Cleaner on the market?

Also does the Tornado really work?

Re: Maintenance On 1999 Ford Ranger

Check your maintenance manual (if you still have it) for the suggested maintenance items at your mileage level.  Oil change, belts, transmission, radiator, brake line flush and air filter are most common.   Also consider tire rotation and alignment.

In my opionion, the cloth performance air filters are the best, such as K&N.  You self-clean them with a garden hose and cleaning kit and they last up to 100k miles.  You get better airflow which can increase both horsepower and fuel economy, not a bad combination.
