Why do we need the cake and eat it too?

Because its a proven fact that people will not buy an automobile that needs to be recharged after 40 miles. Thats a called a golf-cart. I wouldnt buy one if it went 150 miles. 300-400 miles might do it.

But if I can fall back on that tried and true gasoline engine for those long trips and still make those daily grinds to work on a battery. Now we got something.

In a sensible car without the weight of that engine, what range and performance would a pure electric car acheive with this technology? Why are we still trying to have our cake and eat it. We want decent performing all electric cars now, for the planet, for the security implications and for us the drivers!
