&lt;p&gt;Because its a proven fact that people will not buy an automobile that needs to be recharged after 40 miles. Thats a called a golf-cart. I wouldnt buy one if it went 150 miles. 300-400 miles might do it.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;But if I can fall back on that tried and true gasoline engine for those long trips and still make those daily grinds to work on a battery.
