The 2012 Chrysler Town & Country minivan is available in Touring, Touring L and Limited models priced from roughly $30-40,000. The Chrysler Town & Country exterior look begins with a Chrysler 300-like front fascia, grille and winged badge and projector-style front fog lamps. Around back, the rear liftgate has curved back glass, a body-color aero spoiler, a rear light bar and new LED taillamps. Segment-first features include a heated steering wheel, a new Stow ‘n Place roof rack system that allows the roof bows to be stored in the rails when not in use and a new “fuel economizer” driving mode that helps maximize efficiency.

Consistent with other Chrysler products, the Town & Country’s interior is crafted with high-quality soft-touch materials, new entertainment features, ample storage and seating options that include improved available Stow ‘n Go second-row seating with a new one-touch fold-down function. An array of Uconnect infotainment features offers touchscreen and voice control of media sources, navigation and hands-free phone capability. Beyond that are available Dual DVD entertainment, SIRIUS satellite radio, Travel Link and Backseat TV, plus Uconnect Web for instant access to web sites, email and more—when the vehicle is stopped.

But perhaps this new Town & Country’s most important underbody upgrade is its excellent all-new double-overhead-cam, dual-variable-valve-timing, 24-valve 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, which pumps out a best-in-class 283 horses, 86 more than the larger 3.8-liter V6 it replaces (along with the previous base 3.3-liter and available 4.0-liter V6s). Mated to a smooth six-speed automatic transmission, it delivers EPA fuel economy of 17 mpg city and 25 highway, and that new fuel economizer mode can help maximize fuel efficiency.
