First released in the early 1990s, the first generation Volkswagen Passat failed to turn heads due to awkward styling and merely moderate performance. As a result the Passat was quickly thrust into the public’s eye and soon after became the best selling car in America. The current generation, made up in the first major revision since the Passat hit the big time, moves decidedly upscale in styling and trim, with a bevy of exclusive high-end features, at the same time retaining an entry price below $24,000.
