Description:
While many so-called sport/utility vehicles are evolving into tall wagons, the Nissan Pathfinder proudly remains a traditional, truck-based SUV. In fact, it rides on the midsize-version of the rock-solid F-Alpha platform shared with the Frontier and Xterra, as well the full-sized Titan. Larger than its predecessor, the Pathfinder offers three seating rows. A 4.0-liter V-6 with 270-hp and five-speed automatic transmission is standard across the range, with 4WD models featuring a two-speed transfer case and a shift-on-the-fly control. A 4.0-liter 300 horsepower engine is also available. Starting in the mid-20s, the S trim includes air conditioning, power windows/locks/mirrors, power driver’s seat, aluminum wheels, receiver hitch, and roof rack. The popular SE adds fog lamps, running boards, body-color side mirrors, “Easy Clean” cargo area, fold-down front passenger seat, and first aid kit. Adventurers should look to the SE Off-road with its rugged tires, Rancho shocks, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, adjustable pedals, and dual-zone climate control. At the top range is the LE, will all the luxuries from the SE, plus power moonroof, heated mirrors, heated front seats, leather upholstery, Bose stereo system, and 17-inch wheels.
