Escaping that which has become conventional within the confines of SUV-dom is the 2008 Ford Escape. Powertrain options include a 2.3-liter four-cylinder and a 3.0-liter V-6 engine. For the more fuel thrifty drivers out there, Escape is also offered with a 2.3-liter four-cylinder hybrid engine that promises to deliver a more than welcome 34 miles per gallon. Outside, the Escape sports a freshened-up appearance complete with a new, toughening grill and 17-inch wheels. The interior, adorned with new fabrics accentuated by natural lighting through the new, optional moonroof, keeps passengers and driver comfortable enough to enjoy the optional Sirius Satellite Radio package. Four-wheel drive, a navigation system and an auxiliary audio input jack only add to the pleasure of being able to tow loads as large as 3,500 lbs anytime, anyplace.
