Billed as a "small car that acts big," the Caliber resembles a shrunken Magnum and offers three four-cylinder engines, developing 148, 158 or 172 horsepower. A 2.4-liter 300 horsepower engine is available with the tough little SRT4 model. Either a five-speed manual gearbox, six-speed manual gearbox or a continuously variable transmission may be installed. With the 2.4-liter engine and R/T package, an AutoStick CVT (with six discrete "gear" ratios) mates with all-wheel drive. A "Chill Zone" accessory cools beverages inside the glovebox. ABS is standard only with the CVT.

Re: Why is my car overheating?My guess is what you're experiencing is every rubber part in the car dying at once. Have you ever changed the radiator hoses? Heater hoses?

How big was the overhaul? Could be poorly installed rings. Did the guy hone the bore?
Did he replace the valve guides?
