Description:
When Acura released the first generation RL back in the ‘90s, the full-size luxury sedan failed to turn heads, largely due to lackluster styling and ho-hum performance. But when the Acura re-released its flagship in late 2004, as an all-new 2005 model, the sedan’s striking new persona and extensive use of cutting-edge technology drew unwavering attention from the automotive press and the general public alike. In order to achieve its goal of delivering superior luxury and performance, the current Acura RL employs such features as an advanced all-wheel drive system, active noise canceling, and real-time traffic information. For power, the RL relies on a 3.5-liter SOHC VTEC V-6 engine that is linked to a 5-speed automatic transmission with Sequential SportShift, paddle-shifters, and Grade Logic Control. The powertrain generates an impressive 290hp and 256 lb.-ft. of torque. Pricing for the RL starts at $45,780, with available package options that can bumps the price tag to $53,200.
