| | Aiming unapologetically at the youth market, the one-of-a-kind Nitro is Dodge's first midsize SUV. Not for everyone, the Nitro audaciously flaunts its bolt-upright profile, exerting an unabashedly masculine aura. Two V-6 engines are available: a 210-horsepower 3.7-liter, or a 255-horsepower 4.0-liter. Manual shift can match the smaller engine, but the 4.0-liter mates only with a five-speed automatic. Upholstery is anti-microbial and stain-resistant. Curtain airbags are standard. Nitros may have two-wheel drive, or part- or full-time four-wheel drive. Three trim levels are offered: SXT, SLT, and RT. In upper models, the rear load floor extends 18 inches rearward. |
