Description:
The flagship Saab car line was revitalized back in 2006 with a litany of updates, including a simplification of the trim offerings; previous Linear, Arc, and Aero have been merged into a single variant, available in sedan and wagon body styles. Much simpler… The 9-5 can be readily recognized by its hood, front fascia, front fenders, tailgate/deck lid, and tail lamps. Likewise, the interior that was overhauled in ’06 remains with its refreshed instrument panel, interior door handles, steering wheel, and door panel trim. There is only a single engine offering: a turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-four with 260 horsepower. A five-speed manual transmission is standard for both the sedan and SportCombi wagon, with a five-speed automatic being optional. Well kitted, the 9-5 packs as standard equipment such luxuries as leather upholstery, leather trim, dual-zone automatic climate control system, power front seats, cooled glove box, six-disc stereo system, and basic power amenities. To spice up the 9-5, a Sport package bundles a sport-tuned suspension, sport seats, and metallic interior trim. And for safety, there is a Visibility package that includes Xenon headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and rear parking assist. All Saab 9-5s benefit from free scheduled maintenance for three years or 36,000 miles.
