Description:
Situated as the high-end placeholder in the Mercury line up, the Mountaineer shares much of its roots with the popular Ford Explorer. More upscale and refined when compared to its Blue Oval badged cousin, the Mercury Mountaineer combines off-road capability with on-road comfort. The Mountaineer comes in four distinct trims, each with a range of options. Two powertrains are available. A 210-hp 4.0-liter V6 matched with a five-speed automatic transmission is standard on the base Convenience and Luxury V-6 trims, while a 292-hp 4.6-liter V-8 and six-speed automatic transmission is found on the Luxury V-8 and Premier trim levels.
