Description:
Best known for hard-driving trucks, GMC's first crossover vehicle is a midsize model that seats up to eight passengers. Built on new body/frame architecture with lower step-in height than a traditional SUV, the Acadia may have either front-drive or all-wheel drive. Coupled to a six-speed Hydra-Matic transmission, the 3.6-liter V-6 produces 275 horsepower. Seat-mounted front airbags are standard, and head-curtain airbags protect all three rows. GM's StabiliTrak stability-control system incorporates rollover mitigation. Standard wheels are 18-inch, but 19-inchers are available. Riding a relatively long (118.9-inch) wheelbase, the Acadia can tow 4,500 pounds when properly equipped.
