2007 Saturn Relay
| | Sibling to the Buick Terraza, Chevrolet Uplander, and Pontiac Montana SV6, the Relay is the first Saturn minivan. The seven-passenger Relay offers a complete product range, with both FWD and AWD configurations, as well as two engines. A rarity in the segment, a second, larger engine was introduced mid-2005. The base (and only) engine is a 3.9-liter V-6 good for 240 horses, teamed with a four-speed automatic transmission, allowing the Relay to tow up to 3,500 pounds. Minivans are all about the interior space, and the Relay makes the most of its volume through myriad storage and convenience elements. An overhead rail system provides a unique means of stowing small items and configuring it to suit your needs, with inserts for CDs, sunglasses, and cell phone. The trickest piece is an optional PhatNoise digital multimedia system. Based around a 40-gig hard drive, the PhatNoise system can store and play back up to 40 movies or 10,000 songs. It could be used to play back audio books or entertain with classic video games. The drive can be removed for connecting to a PC and transferring content. On the safety front, the Relay includes four-disc anti-lock brakes, OnStar, and traction control. Front side air bags, second-row side air bags, and stability control are optional. |
