First released in the early 1990s, the first generation Volkswagen Passat failed to turn heads due to awkward styling and merely moderate performance. For its second generation however, VW remedied the source of its sales woes, with clean, contemporary styling and impressive performance, especially when compared to other competitors in the mid-size sedan segment.
