New front and rear fascias give the 2006 Chevrolet Impala a refreshed appearance. More prominent headlamps and taillights, and a 16-inch wheels standard give other drivers a new sites to see in their rearview mirrors. The retailored interior gets a reformed instrument panel, and new seating options, including available leather, and flip-and-fold rear seats. Dual-stage front, and side-curtain air bags come standard, as does OnStar. Impala comes standard with a 211-hp 3.5-liter V-6, and is offered with an optional 242-hp 3.9-liter V-6, while the powerhouse Impala SS comes with a 303-hp 5.3-liter V-8. Although thoroughly updated, die-hard Impala fans are sure to be pleased with the 2006 model.
