General Motors is about to get pretty heavy, man, as our spy photographers recently caught them testing the 2015 GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado Heavy Duty pickup trucks out in the desert. The trucks maintain the basic shape of their base brothers, but some of the plastic camouflage reveals a beefier design sure to appeal to those looking for extra grunt from their pickup.
Several different versions have been spotted, as the top-line dually pickups cruised the streets both pulling massive trailers and riding solo. The 2015 Silverado and Sierra will be available as 2500HD or 3500HD models, with either a conventional gasoline V8 engine or Duramax diesel. Details are scarce on the future models at the moment, but the photos show a wide variation of body lengths and styles that are sure to appeal to any Bowtie enthusiast.
Be sure to check back often, as we’ll post more photos of the prototypes as they’re spotted testing across the country. Car spy extraordinaire Brenda Priddy and her crew are scouring roads near you as we speak. Stay tuned.
