The all-new, highly anticipated 2014 Mazda6 sports sedan will make its first appearance on North American soil when the Los Angeles Auto Show begins on November 30.
Sporting a brand new design and promising impressive performance, the Mazda6 will be one of the most popular debuts at the L.A. show. The car is the flagship model of the new Mazda design language, which stems from the 2011 TAKERI sedan concept and will appear on all future models. We’ve discussed the design of the Mazda6 in greater details in posts like this.
Even their large SUV, the new 2013 CX-9, will carry the gaping front grille and flowing profile lines into its new generation. The new CX-9 is also expected to make its North American debut in L.A., alongside its Mazda6 brother.
Hopefully, Mazda will also bring details about what’s inside the new Mazda6. We know that the Russian and European markets will be powered by either a 2.0L or 2.5L SKYACTIV-G engine as well as a diesel SKYACTIV-D. The U.S. market likely won’t get the diesel option, but as more automakers begin to embrace the alternative fuel, anything is possible. Click here to read our recent feature on the technology inside the SKYACTIV-G engine.
The 2014 Mazda6 is sure to inject some spice into a market that includes the Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima, joining the likes of the new Ford Fusion as a truly exciting new design that pushes the envelope. A strong showing in Los Angeles could lead to a wider range of available engines and body styles – wagon, anyone? – and we can’t wait to see it for ourselves.
