On Tuesday, Jaguar and Ridley Scott Associates released the trailer for “Desire,” a short film featuring Golden Globe and Emmy award winning actor Damian Lewis, Shannyn Sossamon, Jordi Molla, the music of Lana Del Rey, and a red 2013 Jaguar F-Type.
The collaboration between the automaker and the action film powerhouse was announced in last year. The project continued to gain attention when Lewis was brought on to play the lead.
"When Jaguar approached me about the F-TYPE Desire film I was really intrigued,” said Damian Lewis. “I then got to read the script and decided it was definitely a project I wanted to be a part of. Working with the director Adam Smith from Ridley Scott Associates, it promises to be an adventure. Jaguar cars have played some iconic roles in film for many years and I'm looking forward to being the first to drive the F-TYPE in film.”
Jaguar supposedly worked closely with Ridley Scott’s production studio on “Desire,” honing the script and shots for the brand content movie for months.
Set to the eerie, deep vocals of Lana Del Rey, a dashing, English auto deliveryman (Lewis) is driving one of his “packages” through a desert to a wealthy client. Starting off as a routine job, the delivery turns sour when he encounters a beautiful, mysterious woman (Sossamon) who claims to be the ex-wife of the crime lord client (Molla). Intense car chases and gunfights ensue, with some dry wit sprinkled throughout.
Of course, the main star of the show is the Jaguar F-Type, which handles the action heavy short film with great aplomb.
The film will be released in April. Check out the full-length trailer below.
