Description:
The 2009 Land Cruiser is Toyota’s flagship SUV available in one trim version with a boatload of standard features, one upgrade package and a few optional add-ons for a total package on wheels. The sole powertrain is a 5.7-liter DOHC 32-valve electronically fuel injected V8 with dual independent VVT-I (Variable Valve Timing with intelligence) that serves up 381 horsepower at 5600 rpm all while meeting Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV-II) standards. A six-speed electronically controlled automatic overdrive with intelligence (ECT-i) transmission handles the shifting, with sequential shift mode and uphill/downhill logic. Engine output is transferred to the wheels via full-time four-wheel drive with a Torsen center differential. The Land Cruiser rides on 18-inch wheels and includes tire pressure monitoring, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Active Traction Control (A-TRAC), Multi-Terrain four-wheel anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist. A 14-speaker JBL AM/FM 6-disc in-dash CD changer provides plenty of audio enjoyment, while the upgrade package adds a voice-activated DVD navigation system, backup camera, Bluetooth wireless technology, power tilt/telescopic leather-wrapped steering wheel, driver and front passenger pre-crash active seatbelt pretensioning system, center-console cooler box, second-row multi-stage seat heaters, color-keyed rear spoiler, and headlamp washers. “As a matter of fact, I do own the road” bumper sticker not included—but it may just go without saying.
