Description:
Introduced in 2001 and redesigned for 2008, the Toyota Highlander is a car-based midsize “crossover” SUV with seating for up to seven. Highlander is available in two- or four-wheel drive with a 2.7-liter 187-hp four-cylinder engine or a 3.5-liter, 270-hp V6, both with Toyota’s Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i). The base Highlander rides on 17-inch, 6-spoke aluminum alloy wheels with P245/65R17 tires. Standard interior features include a six-speaker AM/FM CD player with MP3/WMA playback, auxiliary audio jack, power windows/door locks, and remote keyless entry. Standard on all Highlanders is an Optitron red-illuminated instrument panel with speedometer, tachometer, water temperature and fuel gauge readouts, and Toyota’s Star Safety System, which includes Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control with cutoff switch, traction control, anti-lock bakes with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist.
