Description:
The MINI was born in 1959, and reborn in 2002. Now produced by the BMW Group, the MINI Cooper is a two-door, four passenger subcompact that’s small on the outside but surprisingly spacious on the inside. Available in Coupe and Convertible styles, the model line includes the Cooper, Cooper S, and John Cooper Works edition. Entry-level Coopers get a 1.6-liter engine, antilock brakes (ABS), cornering brake control (CBC), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), and six airbags. Cooper S models add turbocharging to the same engine for 172 horsepower and 177 lb.-ft- of torque starting at just 1,600 rpm. Available as a tuner kit for 189-hp, the new factory-built John Cooper Works MINI makes 208-horsepower and—like all MINI Coopers—a lot of people happy.
