Description:
Hyundai ups the ante in the midsize sedan segment by giving its steadfast Sonata an all-new interior and boosting performance and fuel economy numbers of both engine choices. The 2.4-liter I4 engine gains 13 horsepower from 162 to 175, while increasing its mileage to 22/32 city/highway. The 3.3-liter V-6 now makes 249 horsepower, up from 234, while city/highway mileage figures increase slightly to 19/29. Inside, refinements have been made to the audio system, instrument panel lighting and controls with a high-res navigation system, touch-screen display now available. USB/iPod inputs are standard. More color choices, alloy wheels, and new bumper fascias improve Sonata’s exterior design, while GLS and Limited models get a firmer ride and SE models receive stiffer spring rates and unique strut valving at all four corners for a more refined, sport-tuned suspension. Electronic stability control, traction control, brake assist, tire-pressure monitoring, antilock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and six airbags all around are all standard safety equipment.
