The FX4 offers body-color or dark grey (with two-tone paint) bumpers, black "bar style" grille insert, wheel-lip moldings, keyless entry keypad, black leather-wrapped steering wheel, black rubber off-road floor mats, a sport cloth 40/20/40split-front seat with manual driver and passenger lumbar support and 18-inch machined cast aluminum wheels.
The high-line Lariat adds chrome or two-tone beige bumpers, chrome grille surround with Light Pueblo Gold honeycomb insert, leather-trimmed seats, power heated side mirrors with integral turn signals, leather-wrapped steering wheel with cruise and audio controls, electronic automatic temperature control, power driver's seat, carpeting and floor mats, message center with trip computer, rear window defroster and 18-inch bright aluminum wheels.
The long list of stand-alone options includes GPS navigation, overhead rail storage, traction control, power-fold heated side mirrors, mechanical or automatic (shifton-the-fly) four-wheel-drive, skid plates, limited slip rear axle, 35.7-gallon fuel tank, fog lamps, power-adjustable pedals, power-sliding rear window, reverse sensing system, six-disc CD changer; audiophile sound system, SIRIUS satellite radio, auxiliary audio input jack, rear-seat DVD entertainment system, two-tone paint and a variety of appearance packages. Also offered are trailer tow, snowplow prep, and heavy-duty payload packages. Third party up-fit prep packages include an innovative lockable mid-box, mounted behind the cab in front of the pickup bow, available on the 145-inch wheelbase Regular Cab and the 163-inch wheelbase SuperCab.
Safety and Security
Ford would like you to know that the F-150 has earned NHTSA's five-star ratings for driver and right-front-passenger front-impact protection and a "Good" rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in frontal offset crash testing. Its hydroformed front frame rails are designed to collapse accordian-style to dissipate energy, and its Ford Personal Safety System includes dual-stage front driver and passenger airbags and height-adjustable safety belts with pretensioners and energy management retractors on outside front positions.
Our experience in a variety of F-150s have sold us on their solid construction, unusually quiet ride, pleasing road dynamics and strong performance with the available 5.4-liter V-8. There are very good reasons why they continue to lead this increasingly competitive class. (www.fordvehicles.com)
