Unlike big brother 300, Sebring is front-wheel drive. Its independent suspension is tuned more toward comfort than sport. A cushioned ride, composed handling and nicely weighted steering give Sebring a smooth, stable feel going down the road. Visibility is good in all directions, and the quiet in Sebring's cabin is only interrupted when you tromp down on the gas pedal in models with the 2.4 or 2.7 engines.
Compared to former Sebring models, the 2007 is several steps up in terms of drivability, refinement and all around value. It will need all of the above, as it goes forward to knock heads in the highly competitive midsize segment. Time will tell whether Sebring will be a 300 hitter for Chrysler, a la 300. But after a first look and drive, it's a safe bet that the new offering will improve the company's batting average with midsize buyers. (www.chrysler.com)
