Acceleration at lower speeds is good but unimpressive. This engine responds best at higher rpm. Automatic-transmission downshifts can be sluggish at times. Even when pushing the gas pedal to the floor at lower speeds, though, the MDX seems to know how to avoid excessive reactions.
Prices have not yet been established, but the 2007 MDX should run between $41,000 and $48,000 when it goes on sale in late October. Acura's Technology Package includes a rearview camera and 410-watt Acura/ELS sound system. The Sport Package adds an Active Damper System with 15 sensors, as well as premium leather. (www.acura.com)
