Power
Should we have gotten stuck and needed to set up camp, the LR3 would have obliged. The interior is configured to serve genuine off-highway travelers with real places to go. It doesn't quite come with camping gear, but it could. It is thoughtfully designed to store large amounts of equipment—or people needing shelter.
Need to bivouac in a blizzard at Buzzard Peak? Just swing the rear seats down to gain a completely level floor area (with tall, straight sides) that's big enough to sleep on. And there are more storage bins and holders than you'll know what to do with. Indeed, all of the interior features are designed and executed in a unique blend of luxury and utility that is uniquely Land Rover. This extends to the optional navigation system, which lets you add waypoints, so you can precisely retrace your path to get home.
It seemed to take forever to guide the LR3 around the mountain course at Willow Springs—but there was no denying its capabilities. And even the Baja boys would have to respect that. (www.landroverusa.com)
