All-new minivan is larger, more powerful and better equipped

Safety
The new Sedona boasts six standard airbags: dual advanced front, front seat-mounted side and side curtain bags for all three seating rows. Sensors determine the driver's seat position and whether the front passenger seat is occupied to decide whether to activate single- or dual-stage front bags depending on passenger weight. Front belt pretensioners reign in slack in frontal collisions, while force limiters release the webbing in a controlled manner to minimize injury in severe impacts. Standard front active headrests move up and forward to help mitigate rear-impact neck injuries to front-seat occupants.
The standard four-channel, four-sensor, anti-lock brake system (ABS) has electronic brake force distribution (EBD) to distribute braking force front-to-rear depending on weight distribution. Also standard are electronic stability control (ESC) and traction control with brake assist, which supplements the driver's brake input to maintain full pressure during a panic stop, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) that alerts drivers if any tires are under-inflated. An illuminated dash readout lets drivers know the exact tire(s) needing inflation.
If a high-feature, high-value minivan is what you need, this new Kia may be your ride. (www.kiamotors.com)
