2006 Honda Ridgeline
Elevating - and looking beyond - the typical truck

Measuring 206.8 inches long, on a 122-inch wheelbase, The Ridgeline is 1.5 foot shorter than a Ford F-150. The 5-foot cargo bed extends to 6.5 feet with the tailgate down.
Storage spaces in the front compartment are numerous, big and handy and include innovative between-seat storage and a huge, easy-to-reach glovebox.
Storage spaces in the front compartment are numerous, big and handy and include innovative between-seat storage and a huge, easy-to-reach glovebox. Gauges are deep-set, but large numerals are easy to read. No vehicle has a grab handle as uniquely massive as the Ridgeline's.
Rear head and toe room are substantial, but knee space is more limited. Honda says the 24-degree rear seatback angle is identical to an Accord sedan's. A power-sliding back window is standard.
From the first moments behind the wheel, the Ridgeline's solid construction and refined demeanor stand out. Engine noise is louder than expected when accelerating, even with a relatively light foot, but otherwise you get little sensation of being inside a truck. Still, the Ridgeline has a rather heavy overall feel, which detracts from its nimbleness.
Though the engine feels sufficiently strong, passing power is inconsistent. At certain speeds, it's wholly adequate but response is more lethargic at some higher velocities. Wind sounds are noticeable at highway speeds. On most roads, the ride is satisfying. Certain harsher surfaces, however, transmit considerable disturbance to the occupants. Lane separators are noticeable.
