As usual, DaimlerChrysler developed a skit to promote its newest models to the media. This year, a takeoff on The Dating Game, dubbed The Driving Game, introduced three Dodge products: the 2007 Nitro and Caliber SRT4, plus a concept Rampage pickup.
Nitro will be Dodge's first midsize SUV, with a choice of two V-6 engines. Billed by SRT's Herb Helbig as an "affordable tuner car direct from the manufacturer," the Caliber SRT4 will deliver "260 pound-feet of tire-smoking torque." Dodge's Rampage show truck features rear sliding doors and no center pillars.

Mercedes-Benz set up an ice rink to highlight high-performance AMG models. A figure-skating couple implied style and grace, while hockey players suggested power. Two 2007 models arrive in late summer with a new 503-horsepower AMG 6.3 engine, the R63 AMG crossover wagon and ML63 AMG sport-utility vehicle.
After launching a reworked Civic Si sport coupe for 2006, Honda unveiled a concept sedan companion in Chicago. Planned as a 2007 model, the Si sedan gets the same 197-horsepower engine and six-speed manual gearbox as the coupe, along with 18-inch wheels and Brembo brakes.
Mitsubishi used Chicago as a launch pad for its redesigned 2007 Galant, specifically, the Galant Ralliart, which arrives this summer. Fitted with a 258-horsepower, 3.8-liter V-6, the Ralliant sedan features a sport mesh grille, aluminum pedals, and tuned exhaust note.
