One handy feature—this sort of thing used to be fairly rare, but is becoming more common—is the fully automatic four-wheel drive system. Long gone are levers on the floor and grinding and gnashing of gears. Four buttons on the dashboard let you choose from two-wheel drive, four-wheel drive either high or low, and a fully automatic four-wheel drive mode. This last is by far the best choice; it senses the wheel speeds, interprets differences in wheel speeds as a slippery surface, and the wonders of the electronic age do all the engagement and disengagement for you. Most drivers could probably go at least 20 years and never have any need for anything but the automatic mode.
In fact, most drivers would probably find the Tahoe to be just a wonderful full-size SUV. If this is the kind of vehicle you want, it certainly deserves your look-see. (www.chevrolet.com)
