2004 BMW 330Ci Coupe
The ultimate of the "Ultimate."

The 330Ci gets a 3.0-liter inline-6 with 225 horsepower.
Just as clearly, engine driveability is not the only aspect of the 330Ci's driving behavior that's wired to perfection—or as close as you can reasonably expect. When most people talk about handling, they're not really talking about it in an absolute sense as used by racers, but in a sense of the subjective feel they receive from the controls in particular and the entire car in general. And it's in that subjective area where the 3 Series coupes excel. It's difficult to imagine giving a passenger car better steering feel - and subjective steering feel is how the vast majority of people judge a car's handling. Not only does the 330Ci go where it's pointed, with sure precision and quick yet steady response, it also lets the driver know, in precise terms, that it can be relied upon to go where it's pointed. In fact, most of the reputation of BMW's driving experience is built upon that terrific, confidence-inspiring steering feel, it must be felt to be properly understood but, once you've had it in your hands, nothing else will seem quite the same.
Which, of course, can be said of the entire car. If you could have but one car for most of your daily driving needs, it would be very, very tough to beat the BMW 330Ci. (www.bmwusa.com)

How big was the overhaul? Could be poorly installed rings. Did the guy hone the bore?
Did he replace the valve guides?
