2003 Infiniti G35 Sedan
A tough, new kid on the performance-sedan block

No matter how it's appointed, the G35 provides a first-rate driving environment. The front buckets offer a great blend of comfort and support while the main controls and switchgear are all placed within easy reach. We found the instrument markings a bit busy and prone to lapses of legibility in direct sunlight; but save for those minor gripes, there's not much to criticize about the basic package. Four full-size adults really can peacefully co-exist in the G35's inner sanctum, something that can't be said for other cars in category. Although the rear seatback is fixed, flipping down the center armrest does give access to a pass-through port that links the interior with the G35's 14.5 cubic-foot trunk.
Bottom line: The G35 is one of the most competent, well crafted and thoroughly fun to drive cars we've encountered in quite some time. Given its exceptional price-to-performance ratio, this hot new Infiniti offering is destined to make a sudden and likely lasting impact on the performance-sedan field. (www.infiniti.com)
