What if BMW built a pickup? That's the question General Motors asked its designers when planning the 2001 GMC Sierra C3.
Background
For the past few years, a pickup truck has been the No. 1 selling vehicle in America. As a result, the Big Three are more focused on pickups and their cross-platform SUV siblings than ever.
Compared to last year's Sierra (left), the C3 has a more serious stance. Its all-wheel-drive system requires an elevated ride height, and a European look comes from projector-beam headlamps and the foglight-equipped front fascia.
Till now, the automotive landscape hasn't had a defined segment for luxury pickups—the Lincoln Blackwood (unveiled at auto shows in 1999) was the first vehicle to seriously address opulence in a cab/bed context.

How big was the overhaul? Could be poorly installed rings. Did the guy hone the bore?
Did he replace the valve guides?
