2001 Ford Harley-Davidson F-150 SuperCrew
One cool pickup with two-wheel attitude and four-door convenience

Ford began its affiliation with legendary American motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson last year. Following the overwhelming success of the original limited-edition H-D F-150 pickup, the Blue Oval operatives created a new package for 2001 that takes the program one step farther. Where the initial offering was based on the F-150 SuperCab, this time around it's the new-for-2001 F-150 4x2 SuperCrew model that gets the bad-boy-in-black treatment.
Harley-Davidson indicia appear on the front flanks, tailgate and seatbacks.
Still dripping with sinister overtones but now offering four full-size doors and even more space for full-size rear-seat passengers, the latest H-D limited-edition maintains the key visual cues established by its predecessor. Outside, the black-on-black motif is punctuated by gray and orange striping set off with bold black-chrome Harley Davidson badges on the front fenders and tailgate. Ride height has been dropped by an inch and massive 20x9.0-inch, 5-spoke cast-aluminum chromed wheels are wrapped in equally impressive 275/45HR20 Goodyear Eagle GTII performance tires. Other distinctive touches include a unique chrome billet grille, special front lower valance panel with integral fog lamps, an H-D logoed rubber bedliner, a flip-over bed extender, signal-lamp exterior mirrors, and chrome side nerf bars.
Black-and-brightwork motif carries over to the well-appointed, leather-swathed passenger compartment. Fascias on main instrument cluster feature a distinctive machined-turned look.
Inside, the more-than-slightly-sinister approach continues. Each of the four individual captain's chairs has a prominent H-D bar-and-shield metal badge inset into its backrest, and each pair is separated by a large—and properly medallioned—covered console/armrest unit. While most of the remaining interior trappings are pure F-150, the faces on the main instrument cluster feature a unique "spun metal" look to distinguish them from those found in their lesser counterparts. The column stalks, door handles and seat adjusters have a chrome finish to endow them with an extra measure of visual punch.
Also part of the Harley-spec F-150 SuperCrew mix are air conditioning, dual front airbags, a power-adjustable pedal set, power-activated driver's seat, an auto headlamp control, intermittent windshield wipers, a keyless remote-entry system with supplemental external touchpad and a premium AM/FM/cassette sound system. The options list is modest, consisting of just a power moonroof, sliding rear window, 6-disc CD changer, and, for those residing in colder climes, heated front seats and an engine-block heater.
